AEW Rampage: 3/11/2022

credit from: All Elite Wrestling

It’s Friday, and you know what that means! This episode of Rampage certainly made up for the otherwise mediocre episode of SmackDown, so without further ado let’s dive in to this week’s final wrestling show with…

Match 1: Darby Allin vs Mark Quen (Rating:3.25/5)

Not a bad opening match whatsoever to start off the night! Following the Hardy Family Office basically imploding with Andrade El Idolo now being the one to lead the group, Allin wanted to get even with one of the members from Private Party; and even though I’m not as familiar with Quen compared to his tag partner, he put on a pretty good match with Darby to kick off the show. Allin wins via the Coffin Drop for the pinfall victory, and it seemed that the AFO were ready to jump Allin and Sting until the Hardy Boyz came out to make the save; evening the odds and in their retro Hardy Boy gear!

Match 2: Keith Lee vs QT Marshall. (Rating:2.5/5)

The match itself was passable and Lee absolutely destroyed Marshall with the Powerslam move that Keith’s been using since he made his AEW debut; but the post match attack was what caught my attention more. Team Taz’s Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs tried ambushing Limitless Keith Lee to no avail!… well, from part of Starks. Hobbs on the other hand dropped Keith on his butt with a Spinebuster which was an absolute “big pop” moment! Finally with that one segment they re-solidified Powerhouse’s dominant and viscous side.

Main Event: Swerve Strickland vs Tony Nese. (Rating:3.5/5)

Just like with Jay White, I’m not familiar with Swerve’s matches or anything like that, so as a first time viewer of this man I’ve immediately become hooked and saw why him signing to AEW at Revolution was a big deal! The dude’s really great in the ring and such a good, and Tony Nese continues to prove that he still is as impressive as he was during WWE’s 205 Live show. Strickland gets the win via pinfall to conclude this night of AEW action.

Final rating:3.75/5
